MONTHLY MEETINGS
Training meetings are the second Monday of every month and run from 6:30 pm to approximately 9:30 pm. While we prefer physical attendance, we understand people have busy lives. If you cannot attend one or more meetings, we have options for make-ups at partnering agencies and/or with trainings pre-approved by our Medical Director. We require 100% compliance between these two options. During the meetings we discuss Marshall Area EMS protocols and equipment usage. Guest speakers also help us utilize the tools we have to become better EMTs. You will leave a training feeling more confident in your skills and EMS knowledge.
APPLYING
The department accepts applications from adults regardless of gender, race, religious, or sexual preference. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver's license, and pass a criminal background check. Applicants must be able to handle the physical requirements and demands of the job.
Marshall Area EMS accepts applications from all training levels throughout the year. If you are not a trained EMT, don't hesitate to apply anyway. There are opportunities to be sponsored through an EMT-basic class. Classes are held at Madison College (MATC) and the college offers a variety of different class times. If you would like to be sent the upcoming EMT class schedule, submit the form below for more information.
For the quickest turnaround, we recommend two things. The first is to apply during one of our application processes. We typically go through applications and conduct interviews April-June and November-December. The second way you can best prepare yourself as a strong applicant is to either enroll in an EMT-basic class or currently hold your EMT-basic (or above) certification.
